Same day, same route, different numbers on the screen. Most price confusion in Bodrum comes from vocabulary rather than from a sudden increase: one page quotes only the ticket, another quotes the whole package. Here is what each word covers.
Two core terms: ticket and tour
Ticket price
The amount one guest pays to board. On our boat it is 1,500 TL per person. On its own that figure tells you very little, because nothing about the scope has been stated yet.
Tour price
This covers the whole day: departure from Gümbet Harbour at 10:30, swim stops at Dalgıç Bay, Ada Boğazı, Aşıklar Bay and Akvaryum Bay, and the return to the same pier at 17:00. Lunch and hotel transfer from Gümbet, Bitez and Ortakent are part of it. With us, the Bodrum boat trip ticket price and the tour price are the same figure, and nothing extra is collected at the pier.
Words used in per person maths
Per person rate
Not a total divided by however many people turn up, but the fixed amount that applies to each adult.
Half fare
The reduced rate for children between 6 and 12. It can change a family budget on its own, and the line by line calculation sits in our breakdown of children's rates.
Free of charge
Children aged 0 to 6 travel without paying. How that limit works in practice is described in the guide written for families with babies; simply state the child's age when booking.
Scope: included and not included
- Included: lunch (chicken, pasta, salad), transfer from Gümbet, Bitez and Ortakent hotels, life jackets and insurance
- Not included: drinks, alcoholic or soft, paid separately at the deck bar
- Not provided: towels, so bring your own
Whenever an offer looks cheap, compare these three lines first. The real gap usually hides in the scope rather than in the number.
Payment and cancellation terms
Booking confirmation
The message telling you a seat is held. Your pick-up time, set according to where your hotel stands, is passed on at this stage.
Refund window
Guests who cancel up to three days before the tour date get their money back. Card or bank transfer, the chosen method does not shorten that window.
Once the vocabulary is clear the decision gets easier: do the two prices cover the same things, is the child discount counted, what do you expect to spend on drinks? You can see how the deck and the bays actually look in the photos we take on board, and read how female groups plan the day in the piece written for girls' trips.
