Booking a place on a boat from Gümbet is simpler than most visitors expect: no ticket office, no queue at the pier. The whole thing happens through a short message exchange. Here are the steps in order, from the first message to the morning of the trip.
Step 1: Fix the date and the headcount
Decide two things before you write: which day you want to sail and how many of you there are. The boat takes 100 guests, so larger groups do well to keep a back-up date. Note the children's ages as well: under 6 travel free, ages 6 to 12 pay half. The fare is 1,500 TL per person and lunch is part of it. Drinks are not included and are paid separately at the bar on deck.
Step 2: Send the WhatsApp message
Everything starts with a message to +90 536 306 6359. Include:
- the date you want
- the number of adults and children, with ages
- your hotel name and area (Gümbet, Bitez, Ortakent)
- anything special: limited mobility, a birthday, a large group
Four lines are enough to get a confirmation the same day. In the busy weeks writing early pays off, and we look at how far ahead to book in a separate piece on ticket timing.
Step 3: Confirm the transfer and pickup time
Hotel pickup in Gümbet, Bitez and Ortakent is included in the price, with no extra transfer fee. Your confirmation states the pickup time in writing. The boat leaves Gümbet Harbour at 10:30 and returns to the same pier around 17:00. The route is set in advance: Dalgıç Bay, Ada Boğazı, Aşıklar Bay and Akvaryum Bay. You can follow the day hour by hour on the tour programme page.
Step 4: Complete the payment
Card, bank transfer and other methods all work; just say which suits you. Your Gümbet boat trip reservation is final once the payment is confirmed. Keep the refund rule in mind: money back is possible up to three days before departure and not after, so check the forecast while that window is still open.
Step 5: Pack on the morning of the trip
There is a toilet, a shower and a changing cabin on board, along with life jackets, safety equipment and insurance. Towels are not handed out, so bring your own. Add sunscreen, a hat and a way to pay at the bar. Pets are not accepted; smoking is allowed in the designated areas.
Music stays in the background during the morning and the DJ lifts the tempo after lunch, so a silent day at sea this is not. Families can read our notes on calm bays suited to swimming with children, while first-timers may want the tips we put together for guests staying in Gümbet.
