If you are staying in Gümbet, reaching the boat is the simplest part of the day. The departure pier sits inside the bay itself, so there is no ride to another town and no long transfer. What first-time visitors actually want to know is more practical: which way to turn after leaving the hotel, whether to wait for the shuttle, or whether walking makes more sense. Here is how Gümbet boat tour transport works, from your hotel door to the deck.
Where the boat leaves from
We depart from Gümbet Harbour, so you do not need to travel to any other pier in Bodrum. Gümbet is the bay next to the town centre, and if you follow the seafront you will recognise the harbour area by the boats moored side by side. After you book, we send directions to the meeting point, so nobody has to hunt for an address alone.
The hotel shuttle: the easiest option
For guests staying in Gümbet, Bitez and Ortakent, the shuttle is included in the tour price. There is no extra transfer fee and no zone surcharge. If you want to use it, share these details when you book:
- The name of your hotel and its neighbourhood
- How many people are coming, and the ages of any children
- A phone number where we can reach you
- Whether you will wait at reception or at a nearby corner
Your pick-up time depends on where the hotel sits and is confirmed to you in advance. If you would rather sort it out by voice first, our note on who to speak to before booking makes that quicker.
On foot, by taxi or with your own car
If you are close to the shore, walking is usually the plainest answer: follow the seafront and keep going towards the harbour side. If your hotel sits up a back street, or you are travelling with small children and a cool bag, a taxi is kinder. Driving yourself is possible, but parking near the shore takes patience in high season, so leaving the car at the hotel and taking the shuttle is generally less effort. Couples planning a calmer day will find more in our guide written for two people travelling together.
What time should you set off?
The boat leaves at 10:30 and returns to the same pier around 17:00. Boarding, choosing a spot and the name check take a few minutes, so arriving early keeps things calm. Breakfast is not served on board, so eat at your hotel before you head out; lunch is included and served at Ada Boğazı. Drinks are not included and are paid for separately at the deck bar.
Settle transport the day before
Agreeing on transport the evening before removes the morning rush entirely. Tell us whether you want the shuttle or will come to the pier yourself, and the rest is arranged. You can see exactly what to write in our sample booking message, and follow the flow of the day on the tour programme page.
