Gümbet Boat Trip: From the Beach to the Jetty, Jetty to the Bays

The beach is where most holidays in Gümbet begin, but the jetty at the western end of the bay opens up a very different sort of day. A Gümbet boat trip starts within walking distance of most hotels and turns into a full day around four bays of the Bodrum peninsula.

From the beach to the jetty

Departure is from Gümbet Harbour at 10:30, and the boat is back at the same jetty at 17:00 — roughly six and a half hours on the water. Hotels in Gümbet, Bitez and Ortakent are served by a shuttle that is already included in the price, so there is no extra transfer fee. No breakfast is served on board, so eat at your hotel before you set off. If you want the timing spelled out, our hour-by-hour rundown of the day covers it.

From the jetty to the bays: four stops

The order never changes, and each bay gets a stop of 30 to 40 minutes:

  • Dalgıç Bay — the first swim of the day, while the water is still calm.
  • Ada Boğazı — lunch is served here, and the DJ set starts after it. We explained separately why this narrow channel gets photographed so often.
  • Aşıklar Bay — the easiest stop for swimming and pictures.
  • Akvaryum Bay — the last break before the return, good for snorkelling.

Bodrum has plenty of other bays, from Karaada to Bağla; our tour visits these four and does not change the route during the day.

What the price covers

The fare is 1,500 TL per person. Children aged 0-6 travel free and 6-12 pay half. Lunch — chicken, pasta and salad — is included and served at Ada Boğazı around 13:00. Drinks are not included: everything, alcoholic or soft, is paid for separately at the bar on deck. Towels are not provided, so pack your own. There are toilets, a shower and a changing cabin on board. For the version of the story that runs from your hotel door and back again, we have a separate guide.

Who it suits and who it does not

Capacity is 100 people, and the music gets louder after lunch. If you like a crowd and dancing on deck, this is your kind of day. If you are after quiet, a book and privacy, it honestly is not; a small private charter would serve you better. Pets are not allowed, and smoking is fine only in the marked areas.

Because the boat is back by 17:00, your evening stays free. Before you decide, the shots taken on deck and in the bays may help. Bookings go through WhatsApp: +90 536 306 6359, and cancellation is possible up to 3 days before the tour date.
